Harry Redknapp Named New Super Eagles Coach

Harry Redknapp Super Eagles Coach

The Nigeria football governing body (NFF) appointed Salisu Yusuf as acting manager this week to take charge of two upcoming friendlies against Mali in Paris on May 27 and Luxembourg on June 1.

But Redknapp, who was once tipped to become England coach, has been reportedly approached to take over the Super Eagles full time.

Daily Star claims that a source close to the team revealed Harry Redknapp could be named as the next permanent Nigeria manager within a few days.

Sunday Oliseh, who left in February after falling out with the NFF over unpaid salaries, was the last permanent head coach of the Super Eagles.

Harry Redknapp previously managed Bournemouth, West Ham United, Portsmouth (twice), Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers. In his second spell at Portsmouth, he managed the side that won the 2008 FA Cup. At the conclusion of the 2009–10 season he guided Tottenham into the UEFA Champions League for the very first time. Redknapp oversaw Tottenham's progress to the last 16 after defeating Werder Bremen at home. They topped their group ahead of holders Inter Milan, before defeating AC Milan over two legs to reach the quarter-finals.

Harry Redknapp is really the best bet for the super eagles and will surely improve the Nigerian football.
